Backup to AWS S3 Calculator

By Nate Reynolds Today we launched our public beta of the Backup to Cloud with AWS estimation tool. With all of the S3 calculators available on the Internet, we’ve been unable to find any that account for the accumulation of data by course of normal backup and retention routines. To that end we leveraged our enterprise storage team to develop a calculator that takes into account data retention frequency of backup and long-term archival using S3’s platform storage tools. Starting your Journey Towards The Cloud: Why VMware’s End User Computing Solutions Make Sense

Since joining Clearpath Solutions Group I have had many opportunities to present at company events, as well as at VMware User Group events and VMware Knowledge Series events.  I'm pretty serious about my introverted nature (I highly recommend the book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking for anyone figuring out how navigate your own introversion in your professional or personal lives).  I've been very pleasantly surprised at my comfort and enjoyment in presenting in front of large groups, and interacting with the audience.  I've found that when I share my passion … [Read more...]

VMworld 2010 Labs Preview

I was fortunate enough to be offered a sneak peak at the VMworld 2010 Hands-on Labs setup this morning, and let me tell you - I am impressed.  A lot of hard work has gone into planning, architecting and deploying the Labs environment, promising to make it the most user-friendly VMworld Labs setup yet.  Here is what you need to know: Location: The Labs will be held at Moscone West, on the corner of 5th & Howard St. This is a change from last year.
