Update – 5/20/2013: Head to my VMware Visio Stencils and Shapes permalink page for the latest versions of this stencil, and my VMware Horizon View specific shapes.
I’ve been working on some Visio diagrams for some VMware projects I am architecting. I wanted to use some icons to identify VM’s and vCenter actions in my diagrams and found there were no good Visio stencils, shapes or templates for it so I made my own. They’re not the greatest quality, but will do for now. Here’s what the new pack looks like:

Update: 11/11/2012 – I had a request to provide these in VSX format (XML Stencil) – you can get them here: VMware-View-Visio-Stencil-XML-Stencil
If you have ideas for more icons or shapes leave a comment – I’ll post an updated download if/when i get new shapes.

seems your pack is quite interesting, but can’t extract the icon from the vss file from linux, i tried vsdump but it’s crashing 🙁
do you know a way to get the image from the vss ?

Many thanks for the stencils.. they look really good. However I am struggling to edit the “text” portion of the Esxi Layer… Is there a way to change the text in white in there? Same applies to all other “layers”

Excellent Visio Icons but I wonder did you manage to work out how to edit the text in the Build Your Own shapes?
I’m also wondering if anyone manage to accomplish this
